Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus is seeking a Custodian to maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and staff. The role operates on campus with a 2pm–10:30pm schedule, 100% on-site time, and a starting wage of $17.66 per hour.

Custodian I -100% -2nd Shift - Downtown Campus

The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus department of Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe, clean and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff. University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown (located at 500 E. Market Street, Iowa City, IA) is a 194-bed hospital that became part of Iowa’s only comprehensive academic health system on Jan. 31, 2024.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

• Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
• Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
• Wall & ceiling washing
• Furniture moves and room setups
• Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is performed fully on campus.

Percent of time:100%

Schedule: 2nd Shift 2pm-10:30pm, plus every 7 th weekend

Salary:$17.66/hour
