Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Custodian I within Environmental Services to provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff on campus in Iowa City. This full-time, on-campus position offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays, and a wage of $17.66 per hour.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

• Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
• Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
• Wall & ceiling washing
• Furniture moves and room setups
• Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is performed fully on campus.

We as a department are responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of over 2.8 million square feet of the hospital. The department provides support through 24/7 operations.
