Job summary

The Kravis Center is seeking a full-time Custodian to join our team in West Palm Beach. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and performing custodial duties across the center, with morning and evening shifts available.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to operate cleaning equipment, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 30 pounds. Evening and weekend work are required. The center provides a full benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the overall cleanliness of the Center, including emptying trash bins.
• Cleans all bathrooms and dusts/vacuums offices/dressing rooms.
• Cleans windows and polishes brass fixtures/handrails.
• Mops floors and restores spaces to pre-event cleanliness.
• Responds to custodial service requests and informs supervisor of status.
• Reports supply or equipment needs to the Custodial Services Supervisor.
• Communicates with Supervisor about status of special projects or maintenance/cleaning issues.
• Performs other duties as required.

Job description

We are seeking a full-time Custodian to join our team. In this role, you are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Kravis Center and performing all custodial duties as directed. Morning and evening shifts are available.

• Maintains the overall cleanliness of the Center – including but not limited to the following:
• Emptying trash bins
• Cleaning all bathrooms
• Vacuuming and dusting all offices/dressing rooms, etc.
• Cleaning windows and polishing brass fixtures/handrails
• Mopping floors
• Restoring all performance/meeting spaces to pre-event cleanliness
• Responds to all custodial services requests/inquiries as directed.
• Reports any supply or equipment needs to the Custodial Services Supervisor.
• Communicates directly and consistently with the Supervisor on the status of all special projects or maintenance/cleaning issues.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Must be a self-starter who takes the initiative to correct problems as they arise and possess strong interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent vocational school diploma.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This position involves operating cleaning equipment and tools, as well as regular standing and walking on hard surfaces, bending, walking up and down stairs, and lifting up to 30 pounds; Must adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment; Use of hands and fingers for cleaning tools and equipment; visual acuity for identifying maintenance needs; Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may include exposure to heat, cold, fumes/odors, hazardous materials, dirt/dust and noise is common. Evening and weekend work is required.
