Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is accepting applications for a full-time, evening shift custodian position at Christiansburg High School.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform routine manual labor associated with daily cleaning of buildings.
Dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, removing trash, cleaning bathrooms, and polishing furniture.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or passing score on the literacy test given by MCPS.
Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
Ability to read basic operating instructions.
Ability to cooperate with other staff members.
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations.
Physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (40+ lbs.) as needed.
Dependability and punctuality.
Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Employment Information

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Salary: $35,880.00 – $62,915.80 annually; commensurate with experience and pro‑rated to start date.
