Job summary

The custodian performs routine cleaning tasks, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming and sanitation, to support daily operations and safety in school facilities.

CUSTODIAN – MCPS STUDENT WORKERS

PART-TIME, VARIOUS SHIFTS

Montgomery County Public Schools is accepting applications for student custodian positions that may become available during the 2026‑2027 school year for the Auburn Strand. Shifts will vary depending on school needs and the student’s schedule. This posting is open to Montgomery County Public Schools, Virginia high school students only.

Please note: This is a “continuous recruit posting” to build an applicant pool for all schools. As positions become available, all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered. Should a specific location/job be posted, you may also be required to apply to that posting.

The custodian performs routine manual labor associated with the daily cleaning of buildings. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, removing trash, cleaning bathrooms, and polishing furniture.
