Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains and cleans hard surface floors and carpeted areas, and refinish floors as needed.
• Coordinates project cleaning to avoid disrupting workflow and communicates with departments.
• Operates cleaning equipment, uses appropriate chemicals, and follows infection control procedures.
• Assists with linen management, weighing and documenting supplies as required.
• Responsible for proper waste handling and documentation of assignments.
• Flexible to take on Environmental Service Assistant duties as needed.

Job Overview

Fairview Range is hiring a Custodian for the Housekeeping department in Hibbing, MN. As a custodian, you will perform a variety of support service functions as well as project‑type work and cleaning to keep the physical facility orderly, aesthetically attractive, clean and sanitary.

Schedule: Full time, 72–80 hours per pay period on the day shift. Weekends: Every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Maintains hard surface floors, project cleans, and maintains hard surface and carpeted floors
• Uses good technique to clean and refinish hard surface floors and extract carpeted floors
• Applies appropriate seal and finish to floors
• Properly uses caution signs and controls traffic while doing projects
• Effectively coordinates project cleaning so as not to disrupt workflow of departments and customers; communicates with departments and plans the workflow
• Moves furniture and puts back in correct locations
• Provides a superior level of cleaning quality in an assigned area to maintain a clean working environment consistent with department procedures and protocols
• Uses proper chemicals and dilution ratios, and proper supplies for task and replenishes supplies
• Demonstrates knowledge and application of infection control standards, isolation room cleaning, personal protective equipment and appropriate hand hygiene techniques
• Follows proper procedures for assigned areas and properly documents work assignments
• Properly handles and disposes of regulated, non‑regulated and recyclable waste
• Works independently and remains flexible to change in assignments and tasks as needed; able to switch or take on duties including filling in Environmental Service Assistant duties
• Demonstrates knowledge of linen, assembles distributes adequate amounts of linen to locations and follows delivery procedures including accurately weighing and documenting weights to appropriate departments, adjusting par levels as needed and removes stained and damaged linen needing repair from inventory
• Demonstrates knowledge and procedures and complies with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Demonstrates successful completion of cleaning standards by evidence of quality inspections
