Job summary

St. Michael Poplar Springs Parish in Mount Airy, MD is seeking a part-time Custodian to help maintain church and parish facilities. The role reports to the Facilities Manager and collaborates with facilities staff during weekend shifts from 8 am to 1 pm (10 hours per week). Responsibilities include cleaning, basic maintenance, and replenishing supplies.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, a Maryland driver's license with <=3 points, and prior cleaning experience is preferred. Pay range is $16.00 to $16.50 per hour, plus paid sick leave and 403(b) enrollment.

• Knowledge of safety standards for cleaning equipment and products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans Church, parish office, community spaces, and mission buildings.

• Washes walls and windows, removes dust and debris as needed.
• Select equipment and materials for cleaning, replenishes supplies in buildings as needed.
• Removes trash from inside the buildings and from the grounds.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and bulbs.

Job description

St. Michael Poplar Springs Parish, located in Mount Airy, MD, seeks qualified candidates for a Custodian. The Custodian helps to oversee and perform routine maintenance of parish buildings and property. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager and works collaboratively with other facilities staff. This is a part-time opening, scheduled for Weekends only, 8 am to 1 pm; working 10 weekly hours and non-benefit eligible.
