Fortis Native Group is seeking a part-time Custodian for our Athens, Georgia contract to provide custodial services at Fort Valley USARC. Duties include cleaning, sanitizing bathrooms, dusting furniture, vacuuming floors, and assisting with room setups for meetings or events.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and about 1 year of related experience. Candidates should be able to work in a team, follow instructions, and handle daily tasks reliably.

Qualifications

CUSTODIAN JOB DUTIES

• Reporting to the Custodian Leadership and performing the assigned duties.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain bathrooms using specific procedures and products.
• Dust, polish, and wipe furniture.
• Empty and wash garbage bins and deal with recycling procedures when necessary.
• Vacuum flooring throughout facilities using upright or wide area vacuums.
• Help when setting facilities for meetings, events, or classrooms.
• Properly use and maintain power equipment and tools to maintain safety.
• Secure buildings and doors when they are not in use.
• Following instructions regarding chemical use and safety hazards in the workplace.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in a similar role
• Must be able to perform tasks such as moving, carrying and storing items
• Must be able to walk, stand, kneel, reach, etc. as required for cleaning
• Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions
