Position: Custodian/Bus Driver

Qualifications:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Serve as a Bus Driver/Sub Bus Driver as required by the principal. Must have all qualifications prescribed by the State Board of Education and maintain appropriate bus driver certification at all times.

Reports To: Principal or Department Administrator

Job Goal: To perform cleaning and minor maintenance tasks according to an established schedule.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Follow all school and district policies, along with relevant state and federal regulations.
2. Clean floors, windows, walls, and surfaces as specified.
3. Maintain restrooms and replenish supplies.
4. Empty trash receptacles and secure the building(s).
5. Assist in minor repairs and report damages needing outside attention.
6. Replace light bulbs and maintain supplies.
7. Assist in maintaining heating, air conditioning, and safety conditions.
8. Participate in training and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Terms of Employment

Ten or Twelve-month employment, at will, FLSA Non-Exempt

Starting Salary: Grade 55 ($16.07/hr - $20.17/hr)

Evaluation based on district policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of custodial tools, materials, and methods.
• Ability to learn mechanical equipment use.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with staff and the public.
• Ability to accept constructive criticism.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull 75 pounds, and stand/walk continuously.
• Effective communication skills.
