The Custodian and Housekeeping Maintenance , under limited supervision from the Building Services Supervisor, performs various duties requiring skill and technical knowledge in general housekeeping, maintenance, and campus event set‑up, flips, and break downs for all campus events. Works with Special Event Coordinator to ensure the location is fully equipped and prepared for smooth execution of events.
Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires 2 or more years of job related experience.
Valid driver's license. Successfully complete annual OSHA training.
A negative pre-employment drug screen is required. Subject to post-employment drug and alcohol testing per policy HR 1.95. A successful background check and good driving record is required. Ability to understand, carry out routine oral and written instructions as well as work independently and to direct work of others. Ability to recognize, acknowledge and troubleshoot solutions as they arise. Ability to receive and reliably execute oral and written instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; prioritize and plan schedules; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be a self-starter with knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, event-related services and the technical requirements for employee. Considerable knowledge and skill in use of tools, equipment and materials used in general building maintenance applicable to the job. Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments of equipment. Ability to work with computer and software systems for maintenance records. Exhibit large degree of flexibility with assignments. Must have knowledge of all campus buildings to be able to perform work in any building. Follow OSHA standards and guidelines when performing duties.
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of related trade area and/or general maintenance experience. Proficiency with electronic work order systems and Microsoft Word and Excel
