Job summary

Oconee County School District is seeking a custodian to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly learning environment. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms and corridors daily, scrubbing toilets, and keeping floors and windows in good condition, and assisting with general maintenance.

The ideal candidate has experience in school custodial services, hands-on cleaning skills, and WorkKeys Bronze Level. Salary is $14.11 to $19.88 per hour for 240 days per year, 8 hours per day, with benefits as

Job description

To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, clean, comfortable, and efficient learning/teaching environment.

Responsibilities

Clean classrooms and corridors daily. Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation. Scrub and disinfect toilet floors and facilities daily. Wash all doors and windows at least once each year. Keep school premises including sidewalks and driveways neat and free of litter. Keep walks and steps clear during inclement weather. Assist in the ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair. Keep an adequate supply of cleaning materials and restroom supplies on hand. Provide proper care and storage of equipment and supplies. Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash and waste. Report damage and/or repairs needed promptly, making minor repairs as he is capable. Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day. Perform such other tasks as may be assigned.

Experience/Qualifications

Experience in school or industrial custodial services preferred. Technical or hands-on experience in all phases of school or industrial cleaning preferred. Workkeys Bronze Level Preferred.

Salary Range

Salary Grade Custodian = $14.11 - $19.88 per hour. 240 days per year. 8 hours per day.
