Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County is seeking a Part-Time Custodial/Maintenance Staff member to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks across our facilities. The role includes mopping, vacuuming, window washing, trash removal, and assisting with branch projects as needed. Starting rate is $11.65/hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and efficiently multi-task.
• Effective communication and ability to take direction.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Knowledge of addressing emergency cleanups including bathroom leaks, clogs, spills.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, carpet cleaners, and power washers.
• Able to thoroughly clean locker rooms and public areas, organize cleaning supplies.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Comfortable using ladders up to 10 feet.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, meeting setup, vacuuming, and daily cleaning.
• Assist the Maintenance Director with branch projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and efficiently multi-task
• Must be capable of effective communication and taking direction
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Knowledge of how to address emergency cleanups including bathroom leaks, clogged sinks/toilets, and how to properly clean up bodily fluids, as well as spills
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, carpet cleaners, and power washers
• Knowledge of how to properly and thoroughly clean locker rooms, public areas, wet mop, dust mop, clean windows, wipe tables and chairs, and organize cleaning supplies
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
• Must be comfortable being on a ladder up to 10 feet tall
