Job summary

YMCA of Dane County is seeking a part-time janitorial worker to maintain clean and safe facilities for members and program participants. The role requires cleaning floors, restrooms, and common areas, with duties including snow removal when needed. Weekend and holiday availability is essential to cover peak times.

Eligible candidates will have knowledge of cleaning methods and safety procedures, and the ability to operate custodial equipment. A complimentary YMCA membership is provided as a perk.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning and safety procedures, including restroom sanitation.
• Knowledge of safe operation of floor or carpet care, custodial equipment, lawn care equipment and ladders.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning duties including mopping floors and cleaning restrooms.
• Dusts, vacuums, removes trash and cleans around equipment.
• Clears snow and ice from walkways, driveways and other areas as needed.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment for members and program participants.
• Follows safety procedures in janitorial tasks.

This position cleans and maintains building and exterior grounds areas to provide a safe and clean environment for members and program participants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs daily cleaning duties that include:
  • Dry mops and wet mops floors
  • Cleans restrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas
  • Dusts, vacuums, remove trash and clean around equipment
  • Clears snow and ice from walkways, driveways and other areas as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning and safety procedures, including restroom sanitation procedures
• Knowledge of safe operation of standard and/or electrical floor or carpet care, custodial equipment, lawn care equipment and ladders
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
