W Dale Brougher Foundation YMCA is hiring a part-time custodian to work four-hour shifts with some morning and evening availability.

Position Summary

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas, such as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. Additional duties may involve window washing, meeting setup, pool cleaning, snow removal, groundskeeping, and other related tasks.

Essential Functions

• Ensure the Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining the upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, painting, vacuuming, lawn care, and snow removal.
• Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Record and report repairs; perform repairs as directed.
• Maintain security of the YMCA building and property during shifts and report incidents or hazards.
• Keep outdoor areas litter-free.
• Replenish supplies like soap and paper towels.
• Set up furniture for events as instructed.
• Support YMCA procedures and policies.
• Wear proper footwear and perform duties safely.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret instructions, procedures, and manuals.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals.
• Basic understanding of equipment upkeep and care.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The physical demands include sufficient strength and agility to perform duties, working with cleaning chemicals, operating equipment, and working in dusty or dirty conditions. Activities may involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, shoveling, carrying, twisting, and working in confined spaces. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
