Job summary

McPherson College is seeking a dependable, hardworking Custodian to join our Facilities Management team. You'll help maintain classrooms, residence halls, offices, and public spaces that make our campus welcoming.

This is a full-time, 12-month position with typical hours Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; occasional evenings or weekends may be required for events. McPherson College offers competitive pay and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience is helpful but not required.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, residence halls, restrooms, and other campus facilities.
• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting furniture, and cleaning drinking fountains.
• Emptying trash and recycling containers while replenishing paper products and restroom supplies.
• Cleaning windows, chalkboards, and other assigned areas.
• Assisting with deep cleaning projects during summer and academic breaks.
• Helping prepare campus facilities for special events and other activities as needed.
• Working with fellow custodians to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus.

What You\'ll Do

What We\'re Looking For

• Takes pride in producing quality work.

• Can manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Is able to perform the physical requirements of custodial work, including lifting up to approximately 30 pounds and remaining active throughout the workday.

Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience is helpful but not required. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn are just as important as prior experience.

Schedule

• This is a full-time, 12-month position.
• Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evenings, weekend, or overtime work may be required to support campus events or operational needs.
