Job summary

Peterson Machinery Co. seeks a dependable custodian for evening shifts in Hillsboro, OR. You will clean floors, walls, restrooms, and fixtures, and maintain a clean, safe environment across our facility.

The role requires basic computer skills, the ability to clock in/out, and reliability for on-time attendance. Drug screening and background checks apply; a GED or high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as custodian.
• Heavy industrial environment preferred.
• Drug screen and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and scrub all floors.
• Empty trash, garbage, and recycling containers daily.
• Clean and wash walls, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Clean all restroom fixtures and refill dispensers.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and furniture.
• Complete assigned online training by the established due date.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• May assist up to 30% with clerical duties such as reviewing maintenance work orders and updating expense spreadsheets.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This Position will be Monday-Friday 3:30pm - Midnight

• Sweep, mop, and scrub all floors.
• Empty trash, garbage, and recycling containers daily.
• Clean and wash walls, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Clean all restroom fixtures and refill dispensers.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and furniture.
• Complete assigned online training by the established due date(s).
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

Depending on assignment and location, this role may assist up to 30% of the time with clerical duties including but not limited to reviewing maintenance work orders, document scanning and filing, email communications, and updating expense spreadsheets.

JOB SCOPE

This position serves in the capacity of the Custodian. General discretion and judgment are exercised routinely in the execution of job duties. If errors in judgment or professional execution of responsibilities are made, the department may be negatively impacted.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

Internal contacts consist of levels of positions in the company from business unit leaders to entry level positions. External contacts consist of visitors and vendors.

• Basic computer skills are required, including ability to:

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a custodian, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
