Job summary

Peterson Machinery Co. in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a reliable Custodian to maintain clean facilities Monday through Friday, 3:30pm to Midnight. You will perform floor care, wall and fixture cleaning, waste removal, and restroom upkeep to support a safe work environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and at least one year of custodian experience, preferably in a heavy industrial setting. A drug screen and background check are required.

• Complete assigned online training by the established due date(s).
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Depending on assignment and location, may assist up to 30% with clerical duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This Position will be Monday-Friday 3:30pm - Midnight

• Clean and wash walls, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Clean all restroom fixtures and refill dispensers.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and furniture.
• Complete assigned online training by the established due date(s).
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

Depending on assignment and location, this role may assist up to 30% of the time with clerical duties including but not limited to reviewing maintenance work orders, document scanning and filing, email communications, and updating expense spreadsheets.

JOB SCOPE

This position serves in the capacity of the Custodian . General discretion and judgment are exercised routinely in the execution of job duties. If errors in judgment or professional execution of responsibilities are made, the department may be negatively impacted.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

Internal contacts consist of levels of positions in the company from business unit leaders to entry level positions. External contacts consist of visitors and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic computer skills are required, including ability to: Navigate basic computer systems and programs. Use a computer to clock in and out of work. Complete online training courses with minimal technical assistance. Effectively communicate via email and other communication platforms (i.e. Microsoft Teams).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a custodian, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
