City of Henderson is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning and maintenance of city buildings under supervision. Position requires completion of required certifications and subject to background checks and NCIC/NCJIS requirements.
Eligibility lists may be used to fill vacancies for up to six months; probationary testing and scheduling are governed by the Teamsters agreement. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty cleaning and maintaining city buildings; and performs other duties as assigned.
Pursuant to the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement, full-time non-probationary employees successfully completing the assessment process will be placed on an eligibility list to be used to fill vacancies in this classification for up to six (6) months.
The City of Henderson may elect to test probationary full-time, part-time, and temporary employees who meet the minimum qualifications if there are an insufficient number of full-time non-probationary employees who meet the minimum qualifications or successfully pass the assessment process, or if there are a large number of vacancies or anticipated vacancies in the classification. Probationary full-time, part-time, and temporary employees who successfully complete the testing process will be placed on a separate list which may be utilized for up to one (1) year. If the vacancy is not filled by full-time non-probationary employees as outlined in the Teamsters contract, this separate list may be utilized.
Probationary full-time, part-time, and temporary City of Henderson employees will start at the first step of the salary range, if selected.
