Job summary

Bates College seeks a Custodial Training & Compliance Coordinator to plan, develop, deliver, and monitor custodial trainings, ensuring adherence to OSHA and SDS standards. You will collaborate with the Custodial Services Manager to enhance building cleanliness and operation quality campus-wide.

The role focuses on onboarding, coaching, and auditing to raise service standards and safety across facilities, with a strong emphasis on equity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three years experience in custodial maintenance.
• Custodial training experience desired; experience in training and professional development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development and implementation of quality assurance SOPs for each campus building.
• Organize onboarding and training programs for new hires per procedures and protocols.
• Train supervisors and leads to coach staff in safe maintenance methods and SOPs for uniform campus standards.
• Schedule regular custodial training events and ensure LMS course completion.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and SDS standards for chemical usage and safety.
• Document inspection results and report corrective actions; generate regular reports.
• Audit staff quality and provide hands-on coaching, shadowing, and team-building as needed.
