Job summary

Qualifications

• Level I requires none.
• Level II requires six months of experience in building or institutional custodial work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, wash, vacuum, wax, and polish building floors, walls, woodwork, windows, furniture, equipment, and hardware.
• Clean and sanitize laboratories, washrooms, and bedrooms; keep washrooms supplied with paper, towels, and soap.
• Collect and dispose of trash and garbage; move equipment and furniture such as beds, tables, and chairs.
• Perform sanitary inspections for infection control and handle hazardous materials safely.
• Supervise and train lower level workers; plan and assign housekeeping tasks.
