Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dusts, mops, scrubs, washes, vacuums, waxes and polishes floors, walls and furniture.
• Cleans and sanitizes labs, washrooms and bedrooms; keeps washrooms stocked with paper, towels and soap.
• Collects and disposes of trash; moves beds, tables and chairs as needed.
• Performs sanitary inspections for infection control.
• Replaces contaminated sharps and soiled dressings and supplies.
• Orders and distributes custodial supplies; maintains inventory.
• Observes safety violations and participates in emergencies.
• Assists in training of lower level workers.
• Plans, assigns and supervises housekeeping functions.
