Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance in Honolulu is seeking a Custodial-Night Porter for the Kakaako area. This part-time role provides training, a stable schedule, and the chance to contribute to a clean, welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Work hours are Monday to Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (15 hours weekly) at $17.00 per hour. The successful candidate will be dependable, able to work independently or with a team, and able to stand and walk for long shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must pass prescreen check.
• Experience in custodial or cleaning roles desirable.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Physically able to lift 25–50 pounds and perform bending/kneeling.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training.
• Good English communication and teamwork.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Restroom cleaning.
• Emptying trash and recycling bins; dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Restocking supplies such as soap and paper products.
• Maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards.
• Ensuring a clean and orderly environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the HBM supervisor.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to stand and walk for extended shifts, while also being capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Key Responsibilities

• Competence in safely and effectively operating cleaning equipment.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training for the position.
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Good communication skills in English and the ability to work well in a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards.
