Job summary

Minnetonka Public School Service Center is seeking a Class II Developmental Trainee for an eight-hour, year-round role. The program trains custodians to become head engineers, with required online, hands-on, and classroom training.

The position supports daily operations, cross-training in trades, and supervision of custodial staff while maintaining facilities across district sites. A benefit-eligible, full-time role offers varied shifts and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to obtain boiler/operator licenses as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist head engineer in daily operations and special requests.
• Cross-train across trades to fill shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Inspect and maintain heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and boiler-related tasks.
• Supervise custodial staff and coordinate grounds maintenance.
• Receive and distribute supplies; operate district delivery vehicle.
• Maintain inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies.
