Job summary

Pacific West Site Services, Inc. is seeking a Custodial Lead in the Utica area to supervise cleaning staff, ensure safety, and uphold high sanitation standards across multiple sites.

You will interpret cleaning protocols, manage daily tasks, and coordinate with the Custodial Supervisor on scheduling, training, and equipment use. The role requires strong communication, attention to safety, and the ability to drive between locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma / GED; at least 1 year related experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/AED/First Aid; valid driver’s license may be required; forklift certification may be required.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: read and interpret instructions, strong verbal and written communication, knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Follow daily schedule tasks.
• Provide work direction to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor.
• Assist in scheduling and training staff.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Track equipment inventory, maintenance and repair.
• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Track and maintain supply inventory.
• Assist in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Report employee and customer issues to supervisor.
• Monitor PPE usage and correct at-risk behavior.

Job Overview

The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair
• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Track and maintain supply inventory
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor
• Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies
• Correct at risk behavior and report to the supervisor immediately
• The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
• Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

• Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma / GED required. At least 1-year related experience
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/AED/First Aid certification . A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements. . Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Shifts and Compensation

Sunday - Tuesday with alternating Wednesdays: 6 - 4:30 am

$17-$18 an hour.
