Job description

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a full-time Housekeeping position in the Manoa area. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to stand and walk for extended shifts, while also being capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. While previous experience is a plus, it is not necessary, as training will be provided. Join us in creating a clean and inviting atmosphere for everyone.

-Location: Manoa (Oahu, HI)

-Employment Job Type: Part-time

-Schedule: Friday to Tuesday from 3:30PM to 12:00PM

-Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors for indoor cleaning; as well as use a handheld leaf blower for outdoor areas.
• Restroom cleaning, dormitories, ground floor, lobby front desk, vending area, corridors, lounges, kitchen/dining, area, laundry room, utility rooms, elevators, restrooms, offices, stairwells, ramps, benches, sidewalks, bicycle shed, landing areas, janitorial closets, driveway/parking lot.
• Restocking supplies such as soap and paper products.
• Emptying trash and recycling bins; and dispose of waste in the designated areas.
• Navigate stairwell case.
• Maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
• Ensuring a clean and orderly environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the HBM supervisor

Skills and Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must successfully pass prescreen check.
• Previous experience in custodial or cleaning roles is desirable.
• Ability to perform tasks in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
• Physically capable of carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling between 25 to 50 pounds, as well as standing for long stretches and performing tasks like stretching, kneeling, bending, crawling, climbing, and pressing.
• Competence in safely and effectively operating cleaning equipment.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training for the position.
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Good communication skills in English and the ability to work well in a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards.
