Job summary

VGS, Inc. in Cleveland is seeking a Custodial Assistant Supervisor to oversee custodial operations at the Frank J. Lausche State Building. You will lead crew leaders and custodians, ensure quality standards, and maintain strong supervisor-client relations.

The role requires prior custodial or floor care experience, plus the ability to pass a background check and present a professional image. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with Monday–Friday evening shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality and efficiency for custodial tasks within contract scope and budget.
• Train, develop, and supervise crew leaders and site staff to ensure timely completion.
• Conduct regular quality control inspections as per Operations Manual.
• Maintain day-to-day rapport with customer/office managers.
• Assist custodians with cleaning duties when needed.
• Complete floor care tasks when necessary.

Lausche State BuildingShift: Monday-Friday, 3:30pm - 11:00pmFLSA Status: Non-ExemptThe Custodial Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for performing the following job duties.Responsible for ensuring a high level of quality and efficiency for all tasks outlined in the Custodial and/or Landscape contracts, and for working within the assigned budget.Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.Trains, develops, and supervises all crew leaders, and employees at contract site to ensure efficient and timely work completion.Makes regular quality control inspections as outlined in the Operations Manual and is responsible for ensuring all quality parameters are constantly met.Is responsible for the day-to-day relationship/rapport with customer/office managers.Responsible for assisting with cleaning duties of custodians that call off or are in need of assistance completing assignments.Complete floor care work when necessary.Previous custodial/floor care experience required.Previous supervisory experience preferred.Must pass background check as required by the site.Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must present a professional image and is a positive role model.Has demonstrated ability to maintain positive customer relations.VGS, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability & Veterans.
