Job summary

Vocational Guidance Services is seeking a Custodial Assistant Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations at the Frank J. Lausche State Building. Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:30pm - 11:00pm, Non-Exempt under FLSA.

You will supervise crew leaders and custodians, ensure quality and efficiency, and maintain positive relations with building managers and clients. The role requires custodial or floor care experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work within contract budgets.

• Prior custodial or floor care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and efficiency for custodial/landscape contracts within budget.
• Maintain positive workplace relations with customers, clients, participants, staff and supervisors.
• Train, develop, and supervise crew leaders and site staff.
• Perform regular quality control inspections per Operations Manual.
• Maintain day-to-day rapport with customer/office managers.
• Assist custodians with cleaning duties when they call off.
• Complete floor care work when necessary.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:30pm - 11:00pm

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Custodial Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for performing the following job duties.

• Responsible for ensuring a high level of quality and efficiency for all tasks outlined in the Custodial and/or Landscape contracts, and for working within the assigned budget.
• Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.
• Trains, develops, and supervises all crew leaders, and employees at contract site to ensure efficient and timely work completion.
• Makes regular quality control inspections as outlined in the Operations Manual and is responsible for ensuring all quality parameters are constantly met.
• Is responsible for the day-to-day relationship/rapport with customer/office managers.
• Responsible for assisting with cleaning duties of custodians that call off or are in need of assistance completing assignments.
• Complete floor care work when necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial/floor care experience required.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Must pass background check as required by the site.
• Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must present a professional image and is a positive role model.
• Has demonstrated ability to maintain positive customer relations.
