Job summary

The Learning Experience in Milford, CT is hiring a Curriculum Director to build and lead a brand-new educational program from opening day. This hands-on role focuses on curriculum quality, teacher development, and strong relationships with children and families.

You'll work with the Center Director to recruit and coach a high-performing team, ensure licensing compliance, and partner with TLE on standards. This is an opportunity to shape early childhood education and make a lasting community

Qualifications

• 2+ years in early childhood education or a leadership role.
• Previous Curriculum Director or related leadership experience.
• Experience with curriculum implementation, coaching, observations, or professional development.
• Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Curriculum & Educational Quality: Champion LEAP Curriculum and ensure high-quality implementation across classrooms.
• Support Your Team & Families: Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing teaching team; build strong relationships with families.
• Support Center Operations: Assist Center Director with staffing, scheduling, and daily center operations; ensure licensing compliance.

The Learning Experience is opening a brand-new childcare center in Milford, CT, and we're looking for an experienced Curriculum Director to help establish and lead a high-quality educational program from the ground up.

We're looking for a hands‑on early childhood leader who is passionate about curriculum, child development, teacher development, and educational quality.

What You'll Do

Lead Curriculum & Educational Quality

• Champion TLE's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum and ensure high-quality implementation across classrooms.
• Support teachers with curriculum planning, classroom activities, and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Observe classrooms and provide coaching, feedback, and support to strengthen teaching practices.
• Help ensure programs and services meet the developmental and educational needs of children.
• Continuously evaluate and improve classroom experiences, curriculum implementation, and educational programs.

Support Your Team & Families

• Partner with the Center Director to recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing teaching team.
• Foster a positive culture focused on collaboration, professional growth, and educational excellence.
• Build strong relationships with families and communicate about children's development and learning experiences.
• Support teachers in creating engaging, nurturing, and inclusive classrooms.

Support Center Operations

• Assist the Center Director with staffing, scheduling, and daily center operations as needed.
• Maintain compliance with Connecticut childcare licensing requirements and TLE standards.
• Partner with the Center Director and TLE support teams to achieve center goals.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a passionate, relationship-driven early childhood leader with experience in childcare, preschool, daycare, or early childhood education.

Preferred qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in early childr...education or a leadership role.
• Previous Curriculum Director, Education Director, Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, or similar experience.
• Experience with curriculum implementation, teacher coaching, classroom observations, or professional development.
• Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred.

Connecticut Requirements

Must meet applicable Connecticut requirements for the position.

Connecticut Head Teacher approval or qualifications to obtain approval strongly preferred.
