Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Operations Leader to direct day-to-day department activities, guide teammates, and model exceptional customer experience while achieving department goals.

You will engage peers, train staff, manage schedules, supervise ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product displays, and ensure food safety and Meijer standards are met. May lead in other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service with total engagement that conveys approachability to customers and team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to train and coach teammates to meet service and sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Engaging peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers, including checkout.
• Communicating with team members and assigning daily tasks.
• Mentoring and coaching team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Assist with training new team members and cross-training to boost productivity.
• Assist with department scheduling to improve engagement, service, and store profitability.
• Ensure product freshness via rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team on food safety standards and safe work practices.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display where applicable.
• Contribute to a diverse, inclusive Meijer culture and environment.
• Operate registers and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
