Job summary

Meijer in Michigan is seeking a team member to direct daily department operations, guide staff, and model exceptional customer service for shoppers.

You will schedule work, coach teammates, monitor product freshness and safety, and lead by example to achieve store goals while fostering an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere.

Experience in retail or customer service is preferred, with a passion for helping people and communities.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience including checkout.
• Communicate with team and assign daily work tasks.
• Mentor and coach team to meet service and sales goals.
• Train new team members and cross-train talent.
• Coordinate department scheduling with leadership.
• Ensure product freshness and proper dating policies.
• Ensure food safety standards and safe operations.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and displays.
• Support Meijer culture and diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Operate register and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments.
