Job summary

You will coach peers, manage tasks, and ensure high standards of service and store performance in a fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes mentorship, collaboration with leadership on scheduling, and maintaining product freshness while upholding safety and inclusion throughout the team.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and engagement with customers and peers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.
• Creative thinking and ability to influence others.
• Ability to quickly build rapport and gain customer confidence.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Assist in training new team members and cross-training high-potential talent.
• Support department scheduling to improve customer service, store sales and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness and rotate stock according to dating policies.
• Lead compliance with food safety standards and maintain a safe work environment.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and product display where applicable.
• Contribute to Meijer culture and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash as needed; use powered equipment where applicable.
