Job summary

Glenstone Museum in Potomac, MD, is seeking a Curatorial Assistant to join the curatorial team. This role supports research, planning, and execution of exhibitions, aids in publications, and coordinates with the Visitor Experience department for training and programming.

The ideal candidate will contribute scholarly work and assist with editorial tasks, while providing administrative support to advance departmental goals and priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or similar.
• 1–3 years professional experience in a modern/contemporary art museum, gallery, or academic setting.
• Exemplary writing and public presentation skills.
• Strong cultural competence, interpersonal communication, planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exhibition support from research and development through realization.
• Craft original writing for exhibitions including wall labels and didactics.
• Coordinate with artists and representatives for installations and checklists.
• Prepare and circulate formal correspondence to lenders and vendors.
• Provide tours and support programming and events.
• Assist with publication production and editorial processes.
• Manage publication rights, reproduce requests, and vendor supervision on-site.
