Glenstone Museum, located in Potomac, Maryland, seeks a Facilities Attendant to perform high-quality custodial work across museum spaces. The role reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor and requires attention to detail in a demanding, fast-paced setting.

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with a 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM shift, and the wage is $21.60 per hour. The position emphasizes reliable transportation to the Potomac campus, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and prior custodial experience.

Qualifications

• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters required.
• Strong cultural competence, interpersonal communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one-year custodial experience in an institutional/commercial setting.
• Reliable transportation to Potomac, MD.
• Experience operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor machines.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and event setup diagrams.
• Ability to stand/walk/bend for 8 hours; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open relationships with guests, visitors, and staff.
• Follow periodic routines to keep work areas organized and spotless.
• Clean walls, furniture, windows, tile, fixtures, and floors.
• Vacuum with upright and backpack vacuums.
• Operate floor machines and related equipment as needed.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock bathrooms and supplies.
• Clean windows, millwork and fixtures; dust furnishings.
• Collect and remove trash and recyclables.
• Distribute and secure supplies and equipment.
• Report malfunctions and safety issues.
• Operate employee shuttle as needed.
• Set up spaces for special events.
