Stanford Libraries seeks a full-time Assistant Librarian for Japanese Collections and Engagement (ALJCE) to join the East Asia Library. The role focuses on developing the general Japanese-language collection and implementing engaging programming for students and the community.

The position is hybrid per Stanford policies. Under supervision, the ALJCE will manage resources, provide reference services, and collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to design exhibits and digital projects that

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in East Asian Studies or related field; MLS preferred.
• Two or more years of relevant library experience or equivalent.
• Expert knowledge of Japanese language resources and reference services.

Responsabilités

• Develop and manage general Japanese-language collection, both print and digital.
• Lead outreach and programming to engage students and community.
• Create online exhibition guides and coordinate exhibits.
• Collaborate with faculty and students for classes and events.
• Oversee exhibit budgets and provide high-level reference services.
