The City of Palo Alto seeks a Supervising Librarian to lead our Community Engagement & Support Services division across five branches. You will supervise staff in Collections and Acquisitions, oversee cataloging, and manage day-to-day operations, budget monitoring, and vendor relations.

The ideal candidate holds an ALA-accredited Master’s in Library Science or equivalent, with at least three years of professional library experience and demonstrated supervisory, acquisitions, and cataloging

• Strong supervisory, acquisitions, cataloging and service delivery skills.

• Supervise Support Services staff and oversee daily operations in collections and acquisitions.
• Manage branch/library budgets, vendor contracts, and staffing schedules.
• Oversee acquisitions/processing work and management of collections across five locations.
• Assist Cataloging Librarian and ensure quality cataloging and processing.
• Develop written procedures and promote community engagement and service goals.
