Job summary

First Source Title Agency is looking for a Curative Team Lead to own the daily curative queue from review through clearance and set priorities for the team. You will investigate property histories to build the full picture of each property's legal standing and clear defects identified through liens, tax discrepancies and judgments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in title curative, title examination, or closely related real estate work
• Experience leading, training or mentoring others — formally or informally
• Fluent reading of title documents, underwriting guidelines, lender instructions, trust agreements and purchase contracts
• Composure under deadline pressure with multiple files in motion
• Microsoft Office proficiency; Resware experience a strong plus
• Solid math for interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
• Associate's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the curative queue — own a daily caseload from review through clearance, and set priorities for the team working alongside you.
• Investigate property histories — deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, plats and maps — to build the full picture of each property's legal standing.
• Clear title defects — senior interests, liens, tax discrepancies and judgments, identified and worked through to resolution.
• Analyze recorded instruments — judge the impact of each document in the chain of title and call the next step.
• Keep everyone informed — proactive updates to clients, borrowers, agents and internal teams, answering questions before they are asked.
• Raise the bar — mentor curative staff, document decisions cleanly, and keep quality consistent across every file.
