Job summary

Nisqually Indian Tribe in Olympia, WA, seeks a Birth-to-Five Head Start teacher to provide a safe, educational setting for infants to three-year-olds and support health, nutrition, and development. You will implement age-appropriate curricula, maintain records, conduct home visits, and collaborate with family and tribal programs.

A CDA or equivalent, background check, and CPR/First Aid are required; drive with a WA license; some non-traditional hours may apply.

Qualifications

• CDA or equivalent early childhood certificate within six months after hire.
• Experience in professional early childhood education services for infants to five years.
• Must obtain/maintain Food Handler's permit within 30 days of employment.
• Must obtain/maintain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Birth-to-Five Head Start children at all times.
• Integrate Head Start curriculum components into classroom time.
• Develop and use daily lesson plans reflecting mandated elements and parental/cultural influences.
• Maintain accurate written and electronic records including IFSP documentation.
