Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) seeks a Cultural GIS Analyst in our Indianapolis, IN office. You will support the cultural resources practice by building GIS datasets, exhibits, and metadata, and by performing spatial analyses across several states.

You’ll collaborate with project managers, scientists, and field staff to ensure data quality and workflow integration. Responsibilities include GIS database design, ESRI-based workflows, GPS data collection in the field, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography/GIS, Archaeology, or related degree.
• 1+ years of professional GIS experience.
• 1+ years in cultural resource management or related field.
• Proficient in ArcGIS Pro data management and map/exhibit creation.
• Geospatial geodatabase creation and management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proactive communication (spoken and written).
• Experience with GPS field data collection.
• Experience with ArcGIS Online (Survey123, Field Maps).
• Exposure to Python scripting.
• Experience with SHPO databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide GIS data sets, exhibits, and manage data across multiple states.
• Perform spatial analysis and compute environmental impacts.
• Design and update GIS databases and assist ESRI workflows.
• Assist GPS data collection in the field.
• Collaborate with project managers, scientists, and field personnel.
