Job summary

Georgia Power seeks a senior cultural resources analyst to lead investigations, permitting, and compliance for projects impacting archaeological and historic resources. The role involves coordinating with SHPO, USACE, FERC, and tribes, developing strategies, and managing consultant work.

Responsibilities include due diligence, archival research, and ensuring adherence to NHPA 106, Georgia laws, and SCOP guidelines, while coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required in history, archaeology, anthropology or closely related discipline.
• Experience with SHPO, USACE, FERC coordination on cultural resources surveys.
• Familiarity with NHPA Section 106 and related regulations.
• Experience with GIS tools and archaeological/ historic reporting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence investigations and project planning for cultural resources.
• Coordinate with state and federal agencies, tribes, and stakeholders.
• Oversee field investigations and consultant reports for compliance.
• Identify avoidance, mitigation, and permitting strategies for projects.
