The City of Savannah is seeking an Athletic/Leisure Program Leader to plan, develop, organize and lead cultural and leisure activities for participants in the community. Responsibilities include safety oversight, supervising participants, resolving conflicts, and maintaining records.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and related volunteer or paid leadership experience; a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of leisure services and recreational activities.
• Knowledge of instructional techniques.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and basic first aid.
• Knowledge of conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of equipment usage, storage, and inventory principles.
• Interpersonal relations.
• Plan and coordinate various cultural and recreational activities.
• Use of computers and other standard office equipment.
• Organization.
• Oral and written communication.

Responsabilités

• Plans, develops, organizes, and leads a variety of cultural and leisure activities for participants.
• Implements precautions to ensure the safety of leisure services participants and spectators.
• Supervises children in activities including sports, arts, crafts, recreational games, and computers.
• Resolves problems and conflicts among participants.
• Issues and collects equipment and supplies from participants.
• Maintains activity and attendance records of participants during functions.
• Provides first aid for minor injuries.
• Enforces rules and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
