  • Knowledge of Yup’ik language preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with administrators, regular classroom teacher, and aides.
  • Ability to live and work in a rural Alaskan environment.
  • Ability to carry out duties described below.

Responsibilities

  • Develop instruction plans under supervision and provide instruction to students.
  • Supervise students and maintain the classroom area.
  • Arrange to display student projects in school and community.
  • Input for required student evaluations and progress reports as necessary.
  • This position may be used for cultural heritage instruction, overnight chaperone, referee, or coach.
