The Role

Does everything you touch turn green? If so, then GTI is looking for you! As a Cultivation Technician, you will provide expert care and maintenance needed to grow healthy, strong cannabis plants, and be responsible for all aspects of plant growth. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, positive individual who enjoys potting, pruning, and tending to cannabis plants with care and precision. Cannabis is a heavily regulated industry; therefore, all employees are required to follow safety and compliance regulations.

Essential Functions

1. Plant Life

• Topping plants
• Bottoming plants
• Transplanting & Defoliating
• Tending to grow media types
• Scouting for disease or pests
• Training plants
• Adhering to national grow models and standards

Harvesting (smaller sites)

• Preparing rooms for harvest
• Harvesting/taking down plants
• Defoliating and breaking plants into smaller pieces
• Hanging plants on dry racks
• Cleaning dry and flower rooms between harvests

Sanitation

• Sweeping, mopping, and cleaning as required
• Cleaning plant housing devices
• Maintaining and cleaning plant tables
• Maintaining plant pots
• Reporting issues to management for timely resolution

Safety & Compliance

• Be aware of workspace hazards
• Complete department-specific training
• Report safety incidents and concerns, follow-up as directed
• Comply with safety requirements, state regulations, and PPE protocols
• Maintain accurate records as instructed
• Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment
• Report safety and quality concerns promptly

Working Conditions

• Perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions
• Sit and/or stand for extended periods while maintaining focus
• Lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds with care
• Work in environments over 85°F and 70% humidity
• Adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
• Work at heights of 6-8 feet using ladders and scaffolds
• Daily exposure to allergens (e.g., cannabis, nuts, coconut oil)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or certifications preferred

Additional Requirements

• Minimum age of 21
• Valid state ID
• Ability to obtain and maintain state badging, including background checks
