Job summary

The Culinary Supervisor at Campus Auxiliary Services at SUNY Geneseo leads daily kitchen operations, assists with menu planning, recipe testing, event staffing, and trains back-of-house staff to deliver a high-quality campus dining experience. You will supervise staff, ensure sanitation, portioning, and service standards, coordinate with management, and help implement promotions.

This non-exempt role reports to Restaurant and Café management and offers health benefits, paid time off, and growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. One year of culinary experience.
• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and direction to staff and coordinates workflow within the work unit, including distributing work, disseminating information, assigning staff to cover for absences, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and resolving problems.
• Coaches employees and provides high-impact feedback; creates learning opportunities as part of daily operations.
• Maintains and inspects food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas to ensure regulations and good production practices are followed.
• Maintains sanitation and quality standards of food and beverage preparation and service; enforces sanitation and legal regulations of all kitchens and service areas.
