Job summary

University Housing is seeking an Extra Help Culinary Worker II to assist in the preparation and serving of food for University Housing, Dining Services. The role supports a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment on campus.

Responsibilities include food preparation, serving, sanitation, and basic supervision of student workers. The position is hourly, with shifts up to 900 hours, and does not include benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months of work experience in food preparation in a commercial setting.
• Food Handlers Certification (FHC) may be required upon hire or during initial training.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or assists in the preparation of food items, including cleaning, dicing, slicing and weighing ingredients.
• Performs basic cooking, grilling and food preparation tasks.
• Serves and wraps food; aids in plating and beverages.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, counters, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintains quality and appearance of serving line during service.
• Oversees and trains student employees as required.
• Provides courteous service to guests and promotes good customer relations.
• Wraps and labels products for storage and plans for leftovers.
• Reports equipment failures to supervisor and maintains supplies.
