Qualifications

• High school diploma with culinary training or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen.
• ServSafe certification is desirable.
• Ability to obtain a food safety certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily production and serving schedules for cafeteria lines, retail operations, and events.
• Requisition or retrieve foodstuffs and supplies to meet production needs.
• Operate kitchen equipment with proper safety procedures.
• Advise staff on portion size, ingredients, and quality standards to ensure recipes are followed.
• Provide information to customers as requested.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
• Assist in inventory and recycling tasks in assigned area.
• Assist in training new employees and student workers.
• Participate in training to adapt to operational changes.
• Adhere to uniform policies and safety practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Integrate safety practices into daily activities.
• Provide supervision to student assistants and other personnel.
