Job summary

Avamere Rehabilitation at Ridgemont in Port Orchard, WA, is seeking a Culinary Aide to prepare and serve meals to residents according to dietary needs. You will ensure proper food handling, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and assist the Culinary Services Manager in daily tasks.

Responsibilities include tray assembly, timely serving, sanitation, and inventory support, with a focus on safety and quality in a long-term care setting. CPR/BLS and Food Handlers card are required.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail when setting up trays and sanitizing dishes.
• Knowledge of high sanitation and safety standards in food service.
• Maintains high personal hygiene and hair restraint.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff.
• Requires CPR/BLS certification and a valid Food Handlers card.
• Knowledge of dietary practices and long-term care regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs food preparation tasks as assigned.
• Serve meals on trays at proper time, temperature, and presentation.
• Inspect completed trays for accuracy and place on cart.
• Fill orders for between-meal nourishments as assigned.
• Assist in daily cleaning of work areas, equipment, dishware, and floors.
• Follow facility and state/federal sanitation, safety, and infection-control policies.
• Attend orientation, training, and in-service educational activities.
• Assist with inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies.
