Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is hiring for temporary/on-call Culinary Service Associates in Shields Athletic Dining Facility within Campus Dining. The CSA works in a back-of-house role to ensure quality food production and service.

Responsibilities include cleaning equipment, removing trash, cleaning floors and tiles, assisting with dish room setup, and other general tasks. Pay rate is $17.50/hr, on-site, and the position supports campus dining operations.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 6 hours).
• Ability to move around the café to attend to guest needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and visual appeal of serving lines, food displays, and condiment stations.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing and cutting vegetables and assembling sandwiches.
• Monitor and replenish food items on serving lines and alert cooks to low stock.
• Operate and maintain basic kitchen equipment safely (toasters, warmers, beverage dispensers, coffee machines).
• Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment before, during, and after shifts.
• Assist with dishwashing duties and proper storage of clean dishware.
• Support inventory management with receiving, rotating, and storing food and supplies.
