Job summary

Discovery Land Company seeks a Culinary Receiver at Atlantic Fields, near Hobe Sound, FL. This role will join the Food and Beverage Culinary Department to receive, inspect, and inventory food and beverage products, ensuring accuracy and proper storage.

Collaboration with culinary, F&B, and events teams is essential to maintain inventory control and guest satisfaction. The position requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced resort environment, with duties

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• 2 years of previous experience with resorts, hotels, country clubs, etc highly preferred.
• Experience with large expansive resort communities.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect products, label items, and report discrepancies.
• Check invoices for accuracy and communicate shortages to chefs.
• Organize and store incoming products using FIFO for perishables.
• Operate company vehicles and material handling equipment.
• Pick inventory to assemble orders and maintain par levels.
• Follow SOPs to meet accuracy and production standards.
• Load, unload, and transport products; may use PIV or forklifts.
• Conduct routine physical inventory counts and maintain records.
• Maintain clean work areas and comply with safety policies.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Atlantic Fields, set outside of Hobe Sound, FL

Atlantic Fields is seeking a Culinary Receiver to join the Food and Beverage Culinary Department.

The Culinary Receiver will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and inventorying food and beverage products at the Club. The Culinary Receiver will work closely with the Culinary, Food and Beverage, and Events departments to ensure inventory controls and satisfaction. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for receiving and inspecting products, accurately labeling items and reporting any discrepancies in reconciliation of deliveries and invoices.
• Checks invoices for accuracy of delivery and communicates with the chefs of any shortage.
• Responsible for organizing and storing all incoming products in assigned locations, applying FIFO (first in, first out) inventory controls for perishable products.
• Use company vehicles, carts and wagons, manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, and/or forklifts.
• Picks inventory to assemble orders of product, supplies and equipment for requisitions or established par levels.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to meet accuracy and production standards.
• Load, unload and transport products and materials to different areas of the warehouse and/or other locations. May require use of carts, powered industrial vehicles (PIV), or motor vehicles.
• Responsible for conducting routine physical inventory counts based on established location schedules.
• Accurately complete administrative duties including records such as inventory count documents, temperature and spoilage logs, equipment inspections, and any other relevant business records.
• Clean work areas as assigned, including but not limited to restrooms, break areas, loading dock, and freight platform delivery areas when applicable.
• Implement all location safety policies, OSHA requirements, SDS standards, and emergency procedures. Use all required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Takes appropriate measures to ensure the security of client and company assets.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• 2 years of previous experience with resorts, hotels, country clubs, etc highly preferred.
• Experience with large expansive resort communities.
• Ability to make effective decisions in difficult situations while keeping a positive outlook and demeanor.
• Ability to handle member/guest complaints and concerns, and seek out new and innovative ways to meet and assure positive member experiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shift greater than eight (8) hours in length may be required due to business demands.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
• Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
