Job summary

Atlantic Fields Club, located just outside Hobe Sound, FL, is seeking a Steward/Dishwasher to join our Food and Beverage Culinary Department. The Kitchen Steward will uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygienic conditions across kitchens and back-of-house areas.

You will support kitchen setup, servicing and breakdown for events, assist culinary staff, and help maintain inventory control of catering equipment and plateware.

Qualifications

• Prior culinary experience preferred.
• Guest service experience at a high-end restaurant, resort, private club, or hotel.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Atlantic Fields, set outside of Hobe Sound, FL.
Atlantic Fields is seeking a Steward/Dishwasher to join the Food and Beverage Culinary Department.
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining a very high standard of cleanliness and hygienic state of all kitchens and into general back of house areas. Support in kitchen setup, servicing and break down for events across the business is also a key part of this role. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with all culinary and F&B leaders to create exemplary culinary standards and an environment of continual improvement.
• Always keeps all food preparation areas meticulously clean and tidy. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in all food service areas and for all food service equipment.
• Provides courteous and professional service as well as proper care, movement, storage of all kitchen related equipment.
• Ensures all kitchens are well maintained and cleaned prior to and/or after each daily operation including swift and hygienic garbage removal controls. Also assists with inventory control of catering equipment and plateware.
• Demonstrates full knowledge of cleaning products and keep these areas properly stocked and cleaned.
• Controls any linen usage across kitchens, removing soiled items for laundry and refreshing stocks with new inventory as needed.
• Assists culinary staff when needed and performs side work and other cleaning and organizing as required.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Prior culinary experience preferred.
• At least three (3) months guest service experience at a high-end restaurant, resort, private club, or hotel.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
• Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
