Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin is seeking a Cook/Food Production Specialist to support daily hospital meal preparation according to approved recipes and standards.

You will review production sheets, measure ingredients, monitor temperatures, and ensure safe handling while minimizing waste. Candidates should have at least 3 years' experience in food production and hold a High School Diploma; ServSafe certification is required within 1 year.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in food production in hotels, restaurants, or high-end institutional settings.
  • Familiarity with diet restrictions and ability to adapt recipes.
  • Ability to measure and scale ingredients.
  • Proactive time management and safety/compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Review production sheets and recipes to ensure quality and quantity, and maintain time/production records.
  • Prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces and casseroles by measuring and mixing ingredients.
  • Cook, bake, roast, broil and steam meats, fish, vegetables; carve and slice meat and cheese.
  • Garnish, display, and serve food according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure proper inventory storage and rotate in refrigerators/freezers; monitor temperatures and safe handling.
  • Maintain sanitation and temperature logs; minimize waste and control costs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient-specific dietary needs and safe food handling in healthcare settings.
